I can imagine the care and industrious attentiveness the women had when they prepared the spices for their beloved Jesus. I can imagine how numb and withdrawn the hearts and minds were of all the disciples, of Jesus’ loved ones, and of the multitudes that followed Him throughout His ministry. I can picture a great fog of quiet despair – completing motions but not really feeling them, hearing but not listening at all. Read more
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for dying on the Cross for my sins. Thank You Lord for leaving Your throne. Lord, I thank You for every stripe on Your back, every slur You endured but did not deserve. Thank You for Your Blood. I thank You God that You bore the weight of my sins on Your shoulders, that You received my punishment, so that I might be saved. I thank You Lord that You died and that You conquered the grave that I might believe. Thank You Jesus for staying there when You could have come down. Thank You Lord for thinking of me. In Your precious Name I pray, Amen. Read more

Now Martha, as soon as she had heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting at the house.
Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
“But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
